Blood Donation Drive

COVID-19 affected multiple medical operations, including blood donations worldwide, which resulted in blood shortages in hospitals. The need for blood in hospitals has greatly increased since surgeries in hospitals have resumed, and the shortages have become a worrying trend.
IPS project companies have set up several blood donation drives since Blood donor Day on the 14th of June 2021 to help hospitals around the project area. Hundreds of people have since shown up across all companies.

FKL​​​​​​​/PFL

​​​​​​​Frigoken Limited partnered with Premier Food Limited and Aghakan University Hospital for a blood donation drive at the company’s premises on the 18th of June 2021. Workers across the various departments in both companies showed up at the tent set up at the FKL Car Park. The team also sensitized the people who took part on the importance of blood donations and raising awareness on the importance of safer blood.
Allpack has planned for a blood donation drive on the 13th of August 2021 and the rest of the Companies across the group are looking to set dates to host this activity to help curb the blood shortage in hospitals during this post-pandemic period.

FCL​​​​​​​

Farmers Choice Limited Partnered with Aghakan University Hospital for a blood donation drive on the 14th of July 2021. Over 100 people showed up for this initiative. The company aims at hosting a two-day blood donation drive in the future since people at the company showed up in large numbers which were very motivating.
KPI
KPI partnered with the Uganda Red Cross for a blood donation drive in June 2021 with the aim of giving back to the community, to save lives of those dying in the country because of blood-related shortages. With the new blood donation app set up by Red Cross, a large number of people were able to donate with ease.
