Growing a Greener Future: Donating Tree Seedlings to Staff at Work
The rains are here, and what better time for as to launch our tree growing drive. As part of our 60 years celebrations, we aim to plant 60,000 trees. Our goal is to make a significant positive impact on the environment. One of the initiatives of the tree drive is donating tree seedlings to staff. IPS and its project companies have planted thousands of trees over the years.
A number of IPS staff highlighted that they were glad this initiative has been implemented since they had suggested it as part of the #goinggreen campaigns, and they are excited to grow the various seedlings.
‘‘I requested for diverse tree species including Hass Avocado, Gravellia robusta, Moringa and Passion fruit to plant in my rural farm,’’

"By giving tree seedlings to employees, we encourage them to grow and care for the trees, while promoting sustainability and raising environmental awareness in the workplace, staff have also offered to provide constant updates of the growth process, to ensure we meet our 80%+ survival rate of trees grown,’’

Nushin also added that IPS is working with partners to support reforestation efforts, river restoration and promote sustainability in general.
‘‘Planting trees has numerous benefits, including reducing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, providing habitat for wildlife, improving air and water quality, conserving soil and preventing erosion and enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the surrounding area,’’

In addition to the environmental benefits, donating tree seedlings to staff at work can have positive impacts on employee morale, teamwork, and engagement. It’s a great way to promote a sense of community and shared responsibility for the environment, Isaac added.
To make the tree growing drive successful, IPS continues to educate employees on the benefits of planting trees and how to properly care for them. This has been done through online and offline training sessions and informational materials.
Tree growing is one of the simplest and most effective ways to combat climate change and restore the environment. By involving employees in the process and aiming to plant 60,000 trees as part of our 60 years celebrations, we can create a positive impact on the environment.
